Creative Director

Position: Creative Director (Full-Time)
Location: Charleston, SC or Cape Coral, FL
(Relocation support available for the right candidate)
Compensation: $90,000–$120,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
Reports To: CEO, COO

 

Overview:

We are hiring a Creative Director to lead content strategy, production, and team performance across a growing portfolio of tactical and performance brands:

•Effective Fitness Training (EFT)
•Effective Fitness Combatives (EFC)
•PolicePosts (PP)
•StayReady Supplements (SRS)

This is a full-time, in-person leadership role for someone who lives and breathes audience growth, understands digital media platforms inside and out, and has a track record of building brands people trust. The ideal candidate isn’t just “creative”, they’re strategic, data-literate, and obsessive about the mission.

You’ll oversee two media teams (Charleston, SC and Cape Coral, FL), create scalable systems, and serve as the connective tissue between content, operations, and marketing.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Creative Direction & Brand Growth

•Develop and own the content strategy for all portfolio brands
•Craft distinct brand voices and ensure consistency across every platform
•Build stories and campaigns that align with real audience interests and behaviors
•Turn business objectives into emotionally resonant, high-performing content

2. Team Leadership & Execution

•Manage and mentor two media teams:
•2 Videographers/Editors in Charleston, SC
•2 Videographers/Editors in Cape Coral, FL
•Set the pace and standard for content output, quality, and turnaround
•Foster a high-ownership culture with clear workflows, accountability, and feedback

3. Platform Mastery & Publishing

•Own the posting calendar across YouTube, Meta platforms, and more
•Direct publishing and repurposing strategies to meet audience where they are
•Stay on top of algorithm shifts, content trends, and audience data
•Ensure every post serves a purpose: growth, engagement, or conversion

4. AI-Driven Innovation

•Champion the use of AI to improve ideation, editing, scheduling, and analytics
•Equip your team with repeatable systems that use tech to work smarter not harder
•Lead automation initiatives that save time and amplify results without cutting corners

5. Integrity in Data & KPI Ownership

•Set honest, measurable KPIs tied to real business outcomes
•Uphold integrity in all reporting. Absolutely no padding numbers or vanity metrics
•Track content performance, report findings clearly, and adjust strategies as needed
•Collaborate with leadership to ensure creative work is driving meaningful growth

6. Cross-Department & Cross-Brand Alignment

•Partner with Paid Ads, Email, Web, and Ops to support product launches, campaigns, & activations
•Align brand narratives across EFC, EFT, PolicePosts, and the supplement arm
•Build a culture of collaboration between media, marketing, and executive stakeholders

 

Required Qualifications:

•7+ years in creative leadership, content strategy, or digital brand building
•Demonstrated success in growing an online audience (YouTube and Instagram experience a must)
•Deep knowledge of tactical, fitness, LEO, and/or military-adjacent industries
•Proven experience managing teams and producing multi-platform content
•Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, YT Studio, Meta Business Suite, and project management tools
•High competence in using AI tools in content workflows
•Strong writing, communication, and editorial skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

•Law Enforcement, Military, or BJJ experience
•Experience working across a portfolio of brands
•Familiarity with email and web platforms (e.g., Klaviyo, Webflow)
•Prior DTC or performance marketing background
•Podcast production and multi-format media management

 

Success Metrics (KPIs):

•Content Output: Consistent weekly deliverables across video, short-form, and static
•Engagement Growth: Month-over-month increases in shares, saves, comments, and watch time
•Audience Growth: Organic growth across YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook
•Lead Generation: Measurable conversion lift from organic content
•Turnaround Time: Tight concept-to-post timelines with minimal lag
•Team Delivery: On-time performance from all videographer/editor teams
•Optimization Impact: Platform-level improvement via A/B testing, thumbnailing, captioning

 

Work Environment:

•Full-time, in-person role based in Charleston, SC or Cape Coral, FL
•Travel required between both locations
•Additional travel for field shoots, training events, or content capture
